Jennifer Angus: Goliathus Hercules

Trained as a textile artist, Jennifer Angus creates work that is firmly rooted in the language of pattern, color, repetition, texture, and beauty yet her current installations do not actually involve cloth. Using deceased insects from New Guinea, she creates magical rooms "wallpapered" in a seemingly Victorian decorative style. From a distance, beautiful patterning is all that is evident; coming closer, the natural shading, coloration, and shape of these tropical insects begins to emerge.
